- **Private by Design**: Zero accounts required, zero registration, zero logins, zero advertising frameworks, and zero remote tracking or analytics SDKs.
- **Local-First Sandboxed Storage**: By default, 100% of tasks, subtasks, notes, priorities, deadlines, and completion records are saved strictly on the local device inside sandboxed operating system storage (SwiftData on iOS, Room on Android). The app functions completely without an internet connection.
- **Optional, Explicit Cloud Backup**: Cloud backup is disabled by default. If a user explicitly opts in via Settings, encrypted backups synchronize directly through the user's personal cloud provider (Apple iCloud container `iCloud.com.deleix.todo` on iOS, or Google Drive on Android). Backups never touch, route through, or reside on any servers operated by Deleix. Note: When cloud backup is enabled, encrypted data leaves the local device to sync to the user's private cloud account.
- **On-Device Notifications**: Reminders and daily alerts are scheduled and delivered locally by the device's native notification daemon (`UserNotifications` on iOS, `WorkManager` / `AlarmManager` on Android). Includes a privacy option to mask or hide sensitive task titles on the lock screen.
- **Hierarchical Tasks & Progress**: Supports parent tasks with direct subtasks. Automatic progress tracking (`completedCount / totalCount`), bulk transactions, and celebratory tactile feedback upon completion.
- **Biometric App Lock & Privacy Shield**: Optional Face ID, Touch ID, or Passcode lock. Automatically activates a privacy blur shield in the background multitasking app switcher to prevent sensitive task visibility.
